National Day on Writing (NDoW)

October 21, 2024 @ 1:00 pm - 4:30 pm

Calling all writers, poets, and storytellers! Are you ready to ignite your creativity and deepen your craft? Join us for the National Day on Writing event, a day dedicated to celebrating all things writing!

Dive into a world of storytelling with a variety of engaging writing stations:

  • Craft a message for your future self.
  • Explore translation and bridge cultural divides.
  • Unlock your inner poet with blackout poetry.
  • Embark on a collaborative writing journey with tabletop games.
  • Engage in equity-focused writing on social justice issues.

Be inspired by renowned writer and agent, Kima Jones! Kima will share her passion for writing and equip you with valuable insights to elevate your craft.

Explore the rich tapestry of narratives brought to life by our students in the Showcase of student work on exhibit: “Multigenerational Engaged Storytelling: Student Institute on Boundary Crossings” facilitated by English Faculty Bijoyeta Das.

End the day by unleashing your artistic side! Join a fun Zine Making Workshop led by participatory artist Lizania Cruz.
