We invite you to this year’s Jane LaTour Memorial Lecture, annual public lecture at LaGuardia in honor of Jane LaTour – a lifelong activist, labor organizer, writer, and feminist. She was author of the book Sisters in the Brotherhood, and passed away in 2022.
This year’s speaker will be Kafui Attoh, Associate Professor of Urban Studies at the CUNY School of Labor and Urban Studies and an affiliated faculty member of the Earth and Environmental Sciences department at the CUNY Graduate Center. The title of his talk is Disrupting DC: Big Tech and the Crisis of Urban Governance.
Joe Doyle, a longtime friend and comrade of Jane LaTour’s will kick us off with a tribute to Jane. There will also be staff and students to discuss the Urban Academy Program – an exciting new opportunity for LaGuardia students to earn a bachelor’s degree from the School of Labor and Urban Studies.
