Bad Bunny: Identity and Resistance

May 8 @ 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm

Join us for a dynamic panel discussion with Vanessa Díaz, Assistant Professor of Chicana/o and Latina/o Studies, whose interdisciplinary work bridges media, celebrity culture, and Caribbean politics. Known affectionately by her twins as the “professor of Bad Bunny,” Díaz created the groundbreaking course Bad Bunny and Resistance in Puerto Rico, a reflection of her rich academic and professional journey. From her time as a celebrity reporter for People Magazine to her critically acclaimed book Manufacturing Celebrity: Latino Paparazzi and Women Reporters in Hollywood, Díaz offers a unique lens on the intersections of fame, gender, race, and resistance. This conversation promises a compelling look at pop culture as a site of activism and identity.
