**GENERAL DUTIES**

Founded in 1971 in Long Island City, Queens **,** LaGuardia Community College is one of seven community colleges of the City University of New York (CUNY). LaGuardia offers more than sixty associate degree programs and more than fifty workforce training, ESOL, GED, and pre-college programs. In 2023, LaGuardia served approximately 24,000 students. More than one-third of LaGuardia’s degree-seeking students are born outside the United States; they come from 136 countries and speak 43 heritage languages. Sixty percent are first-generation college students.
Virtually all LaGuardia students are ethnic minorities (89 percent), 58 percent are women, 27 percent are over the age of 25. Forty-six percent of associate degree students are Hispanic. Upon graduation most students transfer to four-year colleges, typically in CUNY, to complete their baccalaureate degrees. This position provides budget support to the College’s Development Operations department, which administers the LaGuardia Community College Foundation. Reporting to the Administrative Manager, the CUNY Office Assistant will assist with, but is not limited to, the following duties;
+ Performs general office duties including photocopying, scanning, shredding; responds to inquiries via phone, email and in-person; distributes materials; and other duties as assigned;
+ Supports the planning and controlling of expenses in coordination with the Administrative Manager;
+ Liaises with program leads to process payment requests;

The CUNY Office Assistant is responsible for monitoring the front desk operations, greeting guests and upholding confidentiality and professionalism in dealing with sensitive situations. In addition, they will ensure data collection is maintained. Reporting to the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs the CUNY Office Assistant will be responsible, but not limited to, the following duties;

The Industrial Design Program at LaGuardia Community College is growing and seeks adjunct industrial design lecturers to support and maintain this growth in studio practices, workshop and modelmaking techniques, C.A.D, C.A.M and digital prototyping. This relatively new industrial design associate degree program is focused on teaching students' foundation industrial design technology skills that will help prepare them for entry into industrial design employment and/or transfer to senior colleges to continue their studies. We are looking for a broad range of design experiences across various lecturing positions for the design courses listed in our industrial design degree map. We are interested in industrial design lecturers who are focused on teaching students how to develop a human-centered design process, develop compelling product solutions and apply their technical and creative skills to build an exciting visual story about their ideas and designs. We currently have a great need for industrial design lecturers skilled in traditional and digital workshop practices, industrial design studio process and digital prototyping using Arduino and/or Raspberry Pi platforms and technologies.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
• A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in the field of industrial design is required for this position. A graduate degree in industrial design is highly preferred.
• A minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in industrial design corporate environments, industrial design consulting environments or a combination of.
• A minimum of 1 years of university level teaching experience (full-time or aggregate adjunct teaching) in industrial design.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience and proficiency in freehand and digital sketching, craft modelmaking and product prototyping, 2.D. and 3.D. design software applications including Sketchbook Pro, Adobe CS, Rhino 3.D., Solidworks, photorealistic rendering and animation.
• Thorough knowledge of materials & manufacturing processes used in the development, prototyping and production of consumer products.
• Familiarity and experience working with design and manufacturing equipment including 3.D. printers, laser cutters, C.N.C. routers, vacuum formers, table saws, lathes, sanders, drill press, power tools and all associated workshop equipment used for product prototyping and design development.

This position acts as the central point of contact for all La Casa-related activities and programming, partnering with internal departments, faculty, student leaders, and external organizations to create meaningful and mission-aligned experiences. The Director will manage day-to-day operations, including staffing, budgeting, grant compliance, and program delivery, while ensuring strong communication across campus stakeholders and external partners. In addition, the Director will oversee the Crear Futuros program, a mentorship and college success initiative sponsored by the Hispanic Federation, ensuring its alignment with La Casa’s mission and its successful implementation on campus.
The Director will also lead strategic planning efforts, develop and oversee event logistics, facilitate site coordination, and implement systems to assess the impact and sustainability of La Casa’s programming. By cultivating community partnerships and securing funding through grants and sponsorships, the Director will enhance La Casa's visibility and long-term success within the college and the broader community.

+ Establish and maintain relationships with faculty, departments, and external partners to enhance La Casa’s mission.
+ Develop and implement marketing strategies to enhance La Casa’s visibility within CUNY and the broader community.
+ Oversee educational workshops, exhibitions, and outreach initiatives focused on Latinx, Latin American, and Caribbean heritage, social justice, and cultural enrichment.

The College Lab Technician (Fine Arts Facilities) provides essential support for the Fine Arts Department's studio classrooms and lab, ensuring their smooth operation and maintaining a safe, productive learning environment for students and faculty. LaGuardia Community College seeks a creative, visionary, and entrepreneurial leader to serve as the Executive Director of the LaGuardia Performing Arts Center (LPAC). LaGuardia Community College is seeking a Student Life Engagement Specialist. SCB 201 covers fundamental topics including basic chemistry, the origin of life, cell structure and function, cellular respiration, photosynthesis, cell division, genetics, evolution, development, and genetic engineering. Students are typically majors in biology or related fields. Successful candidates will teach the lecture (but not lab) portion of the course. A Ph.D. in biology or a related field is preferred.
**SCB 206** : SCB 206 is a non-major course designed to provide Psychology students with basic knowledge of the biology underlying human behavior. Topics include brain anatomy, neuron form and function, learning and memory, neuropharmacology and related topics. Students include psychology students as well as diverse non-STEM majors. The session meets Thursdays 9:15-12:45 and includes lecture plus six short labs. A Ph.D. in biology, neuroscience, psychology (with a biological emphasis) or related fields is preferred.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
For Adjunct Lecturer:
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree withenrollment in a biology/neuroscience graduate program, or with a master’s degree preferred.

Under the directions from the Financial Aid Manager, the Financial Aid Specialist will provide specialized assistance to students applying for federal, state and institutional aid. The Financial Aid Specialist will, in addition to the CUNY Title Overview, perform the following:
- Perform functions required for the compliance and administration of th e Federal Title IV financial aid programs (Pell, FSEOG, FWS and Direct Loans), including Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP), and Professional Judgments.
Perform functions required for the compliance and administration of the New York State Aid Programs (TAP, Excelsior, PTAP, APTS) for degree and non-degree eligible students.
- Perform Title IV verification for students selected by the Federal government (includes income verification, default issues verifying immigration status, etc.) to ensure the accuracy of data reported to the Department of Education.
- Assist with the quality assurance and program compliance of one of the Federal Title IV financial aid programs (Pell, FSEOG, FWS and Direct Loans), including Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP), Professional Judgments, and Return to Title IV (R2T4);
-Communicate program activities, deadlines, Title IV payroll schedule to on and off-campus departmental supervisors;
-Conduct program orientations, and financial literacy workshops for students and departmental supervisors;
-Assist departmental supervisors with creating FWS job descriptions, posting and hiring of FWS students;
-Review daily reports to ensure FWS student records are updated in CUNYFirst and NexGen as needed;
-Identify and analyze rejected data and take appropriate action to resolve issues in the processing of the bi-weekly student payroll for federal programs;
-Ensure that the office adheres to FWS compliance with labor, federal and state tax regulations, and Federal Student Aid program requirements;
-Assist in processing, disbursing and resolving Federal Title IV program and payment issues;
-Assist in preparation of various management reports;
-Participate in monthly university-wide student loan or work-study meetings as assigned;
- Conduct internal quality control reviews and assessments to review compliance with federal, state, and university policies and procedures.
