Career & Technical Education
Assistance Center
The Career & Technical Education Assistance (CTEA) Center provides career development services for LaGuardia students. Through established partnerships, industry insight and knowledgeable staff, we offer career advisement, work readiness and job placement services for students graduating from Career and Technical Education training programs. We also collaborate with academic and workforce development faculty and staff to identify and develop work-based learning opportunities for all students.
Business Partnerships
We seek business partners from all industries. However, there is an immediate focus on technology, construction, advanced manufacturing, non-clinical healthcare, financial services and transportation/logistics to best meet the demand for skilled workers in New York City.

Center for Contract Training
The Center for Contract Training (CCT) at LaGuardia Community College provides customized consultative learning and development services for corporations, public sector agencies and nonprofit organizations. Our staff assesses, designs, develops, delivers and evaluates customized training initiatives that support the growth of an organization’s employee skill base.

Certified Administrative Professional
Administrative Assistants work in almost every business sector, performing clerical and administrative tasks to support diverse organizations. Build a professional network and develop practical skills to succeed in an office setting and virtually. Prepare for the Certified Administrative Assistant (CAA) exam through the National Career Certification Board (NCCB) and earn a LaGuardia certificate of completion.

Small Business Transportation Resource Center
Northeast Region
The U.S. Department of Transportation’s (USDOT) Small Business Transportation Resource Center (SBTRC) – Northeast Region, located at LaGuardia Community College, helps new and emerging businesses obtain transportation-related contracts. We provide training and advising on marketing to the Department of Transportation, Disadvantaged Business Enterprise certification and bonding assistance. The SBTRC is funded by the USDOT’s Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization.
We serve New York State, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Vermont, Rhode Island, New Hampshire and Maine.
High School Equivalency Exam
GED® Testing Center
LaGuardia Community College is an official NY State Education Department Testing Center for the high school equivalency examination, called the General Educational Development (GED®) exam. The GED is given on our campus in English and Spanish on Friday evenings and all day Saturday on scheduled dates. The exam is offered on the computer.
High School Equivalency in English
Build your academic skills in a supportive and non-threatening learning environment to prepare for the General Educational Development (GED®) exam.
Pre-high school equivalency and high school equivalency levels are offered and focus on reading/writing and mathematics while covering all four subject areas addressed in the GED. You also have the opportunity to participate in college and career planning workshops, which provide transition resources to help you apply to college or enroll in one of LaGuardia’s professional training programs once you have earned your high school equivalency diploma.
PDA Academic Division Support Services
Program for Deaf Adults (PDA) provides accommodations and support services for Deaf, Deaf-Blind, Hard-of-Hearing and Late Deafened students to ensure access to Academic and Continuing Education classes as well as to other college activities and events.
