Sustainability Council

LaGuardia’s Sustainability Council develops a wide range of initiatives, events, and campus infrastructure that encourage the conservation of natural resources, enhance energy efficiency, promote recycling, and reduce carbon footprints. We achieve this through educational efforts and activities that take place within our college and community.

The Council has made strides in raising environmental awareness, encouraging students, faculty and staff to lessen their impact on the environment. Through initiatives like installing water bottle refill stations across campus (diverting more than 300,000 plastic water bottles from landfills), as well as Earth Day and Planting Day events, the Council aims to make LaGuardia a more sustainable and eco-friendly campus.

Get Involved

Faculty, staff, and students work together to achieve our goals and coordinate our events. Fresh ideas are always welcome to help make our events engaging and memorable. True change doesn’t happen without information, so help us spread the word!

The Council meets monthly — contact us at sustainabilitycouncil@lagcc.cuny.edu to get involved.
