About
rofessor Clarence Chan is a Professor in the Health Sciences Department and Program Director of the Physical Therapist Assistant Program at LaGuardia. He is also a New York State-licensed physical therapist, certified personal trainer, certified edema specialist, and a martial arts instructor. Professor Chan earned his bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy from Downstate Medical Center/ SUNY in 1989. His clinical experience has included practices in hospital, pediatric, long-term care, home health, and private clinic settings. He received his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska in 2005. His clinical areas of interest include acute care physical therapy, medical ethics, acutherapy, electrotherapy, pain management, functional/ performance retraining, and movement science.
