Correctional Education Partnership

ABOUT

LaGuardia Community College’s Correctional Education Partnership (CEP) supports formerly incarcerated people and those who have been affected by mass incarceration. To help them achieve their academic goals while creating a safe space for them to learn and explore, CEP provides access to high quality degree and non-degree programs such as high school equivalency/GED courses, certification training, and associate degree programs. Participants must be 18 or older to apply.

SERVICES

If you are a formerly incarcerated person, someone who that has been affected by mass incarceration, or are unemployed or underemployed, we can help you get on the path to a successful future.
  • One-on-one and group meetings to discuss academic and workforce training goals & planning
  • Financial aid application support

  • Tutoring support referrals
  • Ongoing alumni support

HOW TO APPLY

To apply to the Correctional Education Partnership click here to complete the application form. Once you submit the form, you will be contacted within 2-3 business days for a screening session based on your interest. After the screening, you will schedule an in-person appointment to begin the process of enrollment in the program of your interest.

COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS

CEP has built relationships with well aligned organizations that support previously incarcerated individuals. In addition, CEP is always looking to begin partnerships with non-profits, government organizations, and other community partners who provide support and services to justice impacted people.
